On Monday, 21st of July, and Tuesday, 22nd of July, I attended MPLS as a part of the committee and an English department OSIS member. For the first day, we were introduced to the school rules and regulations, the work programs, and much more. It was pretty eventful for a first day, and we also had time to prepare for the games tomorrow. Before going home, we divided the students from grade 5 to grade 7 into groups for the games and introduced the OSIS members.
On the second day, me and my teammates worked hard and prepared our game. It was called "Word Bomb," where the students had to spell words with the given prompt. One of my teammates explained the rules, the others counted the points and managed the timer, and I read the prompts out loud. The students had fun, and we did as well. After all the games concluded, we announced the winners before going back to our designated classrooms and spend time to get to know our homeroom teacher and the classroom.
A few weeks later, on August 8 and 9, we had LDKS. We got to learn how to become leaders, how to work together better with out teammates while having fun. We arrived at school on Friday at 4:30 to go to our designated rooms for us to sleep in and went to the auditorium for a small briefing of the program as well as opening remarks. Then, we went downstairs to eat before performing for "Charis Got Talent," where students got to showcase their talents.
On Saturday, August 9, we got ready for the morning prayer before going downstairs to exercise. We did some warm ups and went for a walk. After that, we rested for a bit and ate breakfast. Next was the games, where our group worked together to try and win the games. The games were fun, and we went back upstairs to shower and get ready to go home. We went back downstairs after getting ready and lined up for the closing remarks. Once that was concluded, we waited for our parents to pick us up. And that marks the end of the two work programs, MPLS and LDKS.
